Conservation Work - Trails

Approximately 90 acres of our property is comprised of woods. A healthy forest requires active management to create an optimum balance of tree volume, diversity of tree maturation, shelter for wildlife, etc. We began a corrective logging operation in December of 2007 that was completed in March of 2008. A system of hiking trails was created using new and old skid roads. Over seven miles of trails now loop around the entire property, passing through or by all the various types of habitat: streams, vernal pools, old and young timber, gentle and steep slopes. We've got it all! Below are pictures of the logging operation and trail conversion process.
